Meg Cusack received her J.D. from The American University Washington College of Law and M.S.W. from Catholic University. She is currently licensed as an Independent Clinical Social Worker in both the District of Columbia (LICSW) and Virginia (LCSW), and a member in good standing of the District of Columbia Bar.
Drawing on a unique, multi-disciplined background, Meg has extensive and varied professional experience as a counselor and therapist in a wide range of complex and challenging clinical settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and urgent care, with prior professional experience in the high-intensity national security arena as a Special Agent with the U.S. Secret Service and DC Office of Inspector General, and as a lawyer.
Meg began her clinical training at the Psychiatric Institute of Washington's Court Urgent Care Clinic at the DC Superior Court. She went on to receive intensive clinical training as a Psychiatric Clinician at Washington Hospital Center's Emergency Department and Psychiatric Inpatient Unit. Meg advanced her psychotherapy and counseling skills as a Senior Counselor at the District of Columbia Bar's Lawyer Assistance Program providing therapy to D.C. Bar Members, law students and L.L.M. candidates.
Other previous experience includes legal representation of political asylees, attorney for a trade association, legal editor for The Southern European Law Project in Bucharest, Romania, and teacher in Kingston, Jamaica.
